PBSP Response to Families Affected by Typhoons

In July 2023, when Typhoons Egay (international name Doksuri) and Falcon (international name Khanun) hit the country, communities and farming families in Cagayan were immensely affected. Landslides and floods brought about by the calamities destroyed their homes, crops, and source of income and livelihood.

There were no donations received through the GlobalGiving platform but to assist them in rebuilding their communities, PBSP, together with its member, a private company, conducted relief operations for farmers and their families in the municipalities of Banggao, Iguig, and Amulong. Sacks of rice, food packs, and hygiene kits were distributed to a total of 100 beneficiaries. Present in this activity are the Cagayan Valley Provincial Agriculture Office headed by Dr. Perlita Mabasa and PBSP employees.

This donation is in support of the efforts of the local government unit in responding to the needs of the community and in facilitating the recovery and, eventually, the rehabilitation of the affected farming families.
