The Payson Community in Gila County of Arizona is going through various challenges in terms of rural poverty and drug related issues which are affecting the needs of children in terms of supervision, literacy and nutrition. Our program is free and involves providing food, clothing, art, reading and home works assistance, occasional financial needs as well as opportunities for social interaction and educational activities. Our primary target are under-served families living in Payson.
The Payson Community is going through various challenges in terms of rural poverty and drug related issues which are affecting the needs of children in terms of supervision, literacy and nutrition. We have developed various strategies that involves providing food, clothing, art, reading and assistance with school home works, occasional financial needs as well as opportunities for social interaction and educational activities. The program targets under-served children and their families.
In order to solve the problem of malnutrition we provide healthy food for the kids and also send them home with extra food for their families. We are also providing home work and reading assistance for the kids to improve on literacy. We also offer life skills and team building exercises to empower them. we coordinate with dental clinics for free dental hygiene check ups for the kids. Provide supervision of kids when parents are work during those critical hours of after school.
The project will offer after school services to 350 children and ensure their safety and health as well as offer them opportunity to perform better in school , Provide supervision during those critical hours of after school when parents are at work, nurture talents, Promote literacy and a reading culture for the kids and involve their parents in encouraging their life long education.
