Pathways for Women is a trauma-informed economic empowerment initiative run by UniCoN. With a small grant of 20 dollars, we supported early groundwork for a larger program that will reach 300 marginalized women in Ramkot, Syangja, and the Pokhara slum areas. The support helped us prepare community meetings, plan training modules, and begin identifying women who would benefit most from the program.
The project focuses on building practical skills and confidence among women who have faced economic hardship and social exclusion. It includes training in eco-friendly product making such as bags and scarves, mentorship for small business development, basic digital literacy for marketing and online promotion, and simple financial education. These efforts help women build income opportunities, strengthen their sense of agency, and move toward long-term stability.
Pathways for Women is designed to interrupt cycles of poverty and trauma by creating a safe, supportive learning environment and encouraging community-led resilience. Even with this small contribution, we were able to take meaningful steps toward a program that promotes healing, independence, and sustainable livelihoods.
