Pathways for Women is a trauma-informed economic empowerment project by UniCoN targeting 300 marginalized women in Ramkot village of Syangja and Pokhara slums. It aims to provide mentorship, eco-friendly product training (bags, scarfsetc.), digital literacy (business promotion, marketing), and financial education to enhance women's economic agency. The project aims to break cycles of poverty and trauma, promote healing, and build sustainable, community-led pathways to recovery and resilience.
Women in Syangja District and the slum areas of Pokhara face multiple, overlapping challenges including economic marginalization, limited access to safe and sustainable employment, and a disproportionate burden of unpaid care work. These hardships contribute to ongoing cycles of economic trauma, negatively impacting their physical and mental health as well as the wellbeing of their families.
