Our efforts to continue supporting community development in Puerto Rico have been active. During the past months we have responded to the call for our team to assist entities working towards community mitigation strategies with tools that help them prepare to hold key meetings in the communities they have targeted. Our participatory design tools will allow their team members to learn how to properly integrate the knowledge, priorities and aspirations by and for the community to sustain resilient, sustainable and contextualized mitigation interventions.
These strategies involve co-designing methodologies to move forward; space evaluation, project proposal revision and diagnosis as well as with tool adaptations aligned with their programmatic intentions. We also provided technical support and capacity building for their teammates using the “Cartuchera” activities as practical guides that can sustain their practices. We are proud to serve, not only Puertorican communities with their sustainability, but to have become a point of reference consulted by other groups who wish to conduct participatory community work.
During this cycle we are also proud to have made the announcement of the 5th open call for our Participatory Design Lab, the program that accompanies community organizations in the co-creation of their common spaces. Under the lab the premise is to select a project to support with a 10k investment as well as accompaniment in designing their vision for their collective future.
As always, none of our work could be complete without your help. Being able to promote an open call with a community investment that can be shaped by communities and their priorities can only be done with the generous contributions of our supporters. Once again we appreciate you and hope that you continue to be part of our collective journey towards a sustainable Puerto Rico.
