The Pupils were so happy to be back at school to start a fresh term which will go upto end of september this year and again they shall be having another short period for holidays at home to come back in october and finish up in december for the long holidays then
We are so happy that they have been in school and the l;earning is going on so smoothly despite all the shortcomings and they are very determined indeed, our girls and boys who sat their national examinisations are also gearing up to jioin veriuos secondary school as from 2nd august and thats a good gesuture indeed as most of them have secured very good school to continue with their high schooling and we beilkiuve that they will prosper and go ahead with education further.
We welcome and appriciate all your efforts towards this life changing project in my community and i believe it would go along way to change so many ives iof the coming genrations whom will be very well taken careof and will be very independent in life. we envissioned a very humbled community with its populace being able to take good care of their needs and environment that is why we unvest itheir education now.
New Permanent Stone Walled ECD Classrooms coming up Nicely!
By James Omolo | Project Leader
The new ECD Block being built to host 90 children
The face of our school is changing so much at the beggining of this year when we began the construction of the TWIN ECD classrooms within our compound this is after the previuos classes were destroyed by the flood waters hence we could not have the children in the destroyed classroom hence we embarked on series of fundraisers events which led us ot KCDF in kenya who gave us a matching grant for the construction of these twin classrooms. Together with other well wishers we were able to start this ambituous project which is now t lintol stage and soon we shall be able to do the roofing of these two classrooms to aneable the children to come back into their classrooms after sharing classes with other children for three months now after the re openning of the schools earlier this year, we do hope that by the start of next term in Mauythey shall have had a nicely rebuild classrooms to accomodate them well with enugh space for achieving social distancing in the classrooms.
This would not have been achieved were it not for the wellwishers in kenya and beyond whom have successfully enabled us to achieve this huge milestone in terms of our school's reconstruction. We thanks everyone who are in volved in thsi noble cause to continue with us in this journey as we try to change the lives of these young ones here in My village in Paoponditi Kenya. Our sincere gratitude to KCDF team in Nairobi for coming to assist us in mobilising the support to construct these new classroms for the sake of our nursery kids whom were left withhout a classroom when the floods wrecked havoc in my community two years ago. We strive to go like this and make sure that we rebuild all the eight classrooms within the shorted time possible. Thank you sicerely and we look forward towards a better society in future and this we can achieve togeher as a team.
The schools have been closed since March 2020 and the children have stayed at home for all this time. this was occasioned by the Corona Pandemic. The chidlren have been with their parents for the longest time ever. Now Its good news here in kenya as teh govrenment have partially re openned schools for learners in Grade four and class eight, these are those whom are preparing to sit their national examinations and they have been allowed back to school after over seven months staying at hoem due to the COVID 19 Pandemic.
All our teachers have reported back to school to start teaching this lot of pupils and we recieved all of them and we never lost any pupils due to covid 19 or any other ailments and learning has started off so well from last month. these candidates are preparing themselves for the end of year examinatiosn which will be carried on in the month of April 2021. These lot were to sit fr the final exams in the mnth of novermber but had been pushed forward to teh month of April 2021.
We have also recieved grant from a local non governmental organization here in kenya which have partnered with us to help us build two more classes for ECD pupils. The organization known as KCDF has been able to grant us 1million kenya shillings which is a matching grant for the rebuilding of the two classes. We mobilised teh half of the total amount which they offered to match for us and in total we shall be constructing two new claases at a cst of 2 Million kenya shiling which is equivalent to 20,000 USD. Once complted the two classrooms would host all our ECDE pupils since their classroom went down last year and thesze children have been learning outside on the shades of the trees. We do hope by the time schools fully opens in january these two classrooms would host our small children learning in ECD.
