In Haiti, 86% of the working population lives from highly vulnerable employment. Extreme poverty drives enterprising men and women to set up small businesses or workshops to support their families, with very limited resources. But they sorely lack the capital, training and support to develop and secure their business.
Palmis Mikwofinans Sosyal (PMS), a microfinance institution with a strong social vocation incubated by Entrepreneurs du Monde, provides these micro-entrepreneurs with these key services to succeed and lift their families out of extreme poverty:
Faced with the explosion of gang violence in Port-au-Prince, PMS has redeployed to the provinces to continue supporting displaced micro-entrepreneurs. In 2024, over 8,900 entrepreneurs were supported, 78% of them women, with an average loan of €244.
Thanks to this support:
In 2025, we aim to support a further 200 entrepreneurs in safe rural areas, but we're €22,000 short of the funding we need.
Your donation will change lives, like that of Marie Maude Compère:
“Thanks to successive loans, I've expanded my stock and better structured my business. Today, my income has tripled, I'm saving regularly and I'm financing my daughter's studies with peace of mind.”
Marie Maude Compère, PMS beneficiary
Help us make these life projects grow and build a better future for these entrepreneurs in Haiti! Many thanks in advance !
