2021 Palestine Relief Effort - HOPE USA

Dear HOPE Friends,

Out of a total of 5.3 million Palestinians, 2.1 million are in need of help during this humanitarian crisis.  Thank you for your support of our first international effort centered in Palestine - HOPE USA has been collaborating with Red Crescent to provide medial aid, food, food rations, and shelter to victims during this time.  Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work and the region we are concentrating in, we are not able to share pictures at this time - our priority is always the safety of our beneficiaries and in order to best execute this mission, publicity is not recommended.  Thank you for your understanding.

HOPE USA is a reputable and established 501(c)(3) organization working to end poverty in Pakistan.  We have been on the frontlines of the Pakistan Flood Relief efforts since Day 1.  Our beneficiaries have built a level of trust which comes from two decades of poverty intervention efforts which involve Health, Education, Vocational Training, Clean Water, Ramadan Activities, Disaster Relief, and Qurbani.  All in all, we treat over 750,000 patients per year for free/nominal cost in our network of healthcare institutions, educate 12,000 students for free/nominal cost in our formal and informal schools, and provide income-generating vocational training to over 2,000 young adults per year.  70 percent of our beneficiaries are women and children.  We are well-positioned to respond to this natural disaster because of our established network of hospitals, schools, vocational centers in the impacted areas and the fact that we specialize exclusively in Pakistan.  This experience and the trust of our beneficiaries will prove be critical as disaster efforts continue and progress to the point where we are actively having to intervene to help victims rebuild their lives from scratch.

Currently roads are blocked due to flooding and many organizations are being turned away by the Pakistani government.  Since we have established facilities in the impacted areas, we are allowed to access and provide relief to remote villages which have been suffering with no help on the way.  Additionally, HOPE has been operating in Pakistan for 24 years and is a well-recognized house brand in Pakistan.  In March 2021 we were awarded a medal by Pakistan President Arif Alvi for 23 years of poverty alleviation intervention in Pakistan; we were one of only two organizations to receive this honor.  Additionally we are the only ngo authorized to distribute Proctor & Gamble PuR water sachets in Pakistan which become critical in times when clean water is difficult to obtain.  Lastly, we have extensive experience in Disaster Relief in Pakistan and have aided over 50,000 victims over the years, from the 2005 Kashmir earthquake to the floods that affect Sindh every year.

Warm regards,

Dear HOPE Friends,

HOPE USA has been collaborating with Red Crescent - a highly reputable charity - to aid in the humanitarian crisis plaguing Palestine today.  Due to strict restrictions within the region, we are not able to send our own teams to distribute food and provide medical aid and shelter to victims; the next best solution is to work with an organization which has been the leading provider of emergency medical services by operating five hospitals and engaging in at-site first aid services.

The International Federation of Red Crescent's president has vouched for the reputability of Red Crescent, “I am deeply concerned about the humanitarian situation in Palestine: too many overlapping crises are pushing local communities to their limits. I am always impressed by the critical work done by the Palestine Red Crescent teams: from the emergency medical services to social and inclusion activities, they are a key humanitarian actor. I was particularly inspired by the visit to their centres for children with disabilities both in Gaza Strip and West Bank. These centres embody the real meaning of humanity: without PRCS these children would be left behind. The world has a moral duty to strengthen humanitarian support in Palestine and invest in local actors like the Palestine Red Crescent.”

At HOPE we are committed to maintaining the trust of our donors.  Our first ever international mission has been in Palestine.  We are proud to be able to provide a helping hand in bettering the lives of Palestinian victims, and especially children.  Due to the sensitive nature of the crisis, unfortunately we are not able to provide photographs depicting our work in Palestine.  Rest assured, however, your donations have come to great use during this volatile time.  You are directly impacting the medical aid, food, and shelter that is reaching victims on a daily basis.  Thank you for your constant dedication towards this deserving cause.

Dear HOPE Friends,

HOPE USA has collaborated with Red Crescent to provide medical aid to hundreds of victims of the current humanitarian crisis in Palestine.  Due to the highly sensitive situation in the area, we are not able to share pictures of your donations at work.  We generally pride ourselves on giving thorough updates of our activities, but hope you will understand that the lack of pictures and follow-up is for the safety of the Palestinian people themselves. Please be assured that your donations have reached needy Palestinians and have been specifically used to provide them with medical relief during this time.

Thank you for your overwhelming support for our first international relief effort! We are honored to have earned your trust. As more information is available, we will update you further.

I wanted to share a quote by a recent generous donor to our campaign when asked what inspired them to donate:

"Attended school with Palestinians in the 1950s. Even then intelligent tourists, seeing the situation up close, were shocked and then angry that the US media so badly misrepresented the Arab-Zionist conflict."

Thank you for being a part of standing for justice!

Best regards,
