Dear HOPE Friends,
Out of a total of 5.3 million Palestinians, 2.1 million are in need of help during this humanitarian crisis. Thank you for your support of our first international effort centered in Palestine - HOPE USA has been collaborating with Red Crescent to provide medial aid, food, food rations, and shelter to victims during this time. Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work and the region we are concentrating in, we are not able to share pictures at this time - our priority is always the safety of our beneficiaries and in order to best execute this mission, publicity is not recommended. Thank you for your understanding.
HOPE USA is a reputable and established 501(c)(3) organization working to end poverty in Pakistan. We have been on the frontlines of the Pakistan Flood Relief efforts since Day 1. Our beneficiaries have built a level of trust which comes from two decades of poverty intervention efforts which involve Health, Education, Vocational Training, Clean Water, Ramadan Activities, Disaster Relief, and Qurbani. All in all, we treat over 750,000 patients per year for free/nominal cost in our network of healthcare institutions, educate 12,000 students for free/nominal cost in our formal and informal schools, and provide income-generating vocational training to over 2,000 young adults per year. 70 percent of our beneficiaries are women and children. We are well-positioned to respond to this natural disaster because of our established network of hospitals, schools, vocational centers in the impacted areas and the fact that we specialize exclusively in Pakistan. This experience and the trust of our beneficiaries will prove be critical as disaster efforts continue and progress to the point where we are actively having to intervene to help victims rebuild their lives from scratch.
Currently roads are blocked due to flooding and many organizations are being turned away by the Pakistani government. Since we have established facilities in the impacted areas, we are allowed to access and provide relief to remote villages which have been suffering with no help on the way. Additionally, HOPE has been operating in Pakistan for 24 years and is a well-recognized house brand in Pakistan. In March 2021 we were awarded a medal by Pakistan President Arif Alvi for 23 years of poverty alleviation intervention in Pakistan; we were one of only two organizations to receive this honor. Additionally we are the only ngo authorized to distribute Proctor & Gamble PuR water sachets in Pakistan which become critical in times when clean water is difficult to obtain. Lastly, we have extensive experience in Disaster Relief in Pakistan and have aided over 50,000 victims over the years, from the 2005 Kashmir earthquake to the floods that affect Sindh every year.
Warm regards,
Ambereen Siddiqui
