Dear HOPE Friends,
500 Azad Kashmir Home School Students Receive Recognition and Prizes in End-of-Year Ceremony
As the 2025/26 school year comes to a close, HOPE Home School students studying in the high altitudes of Azad Kashmir participated in an Annual Results Ceremony, complete with prizes for top-performing students. On April 21, 2026, 500 Students gathered together with HOPE's Azad Kashmir Maternal and Child Healthcare Coordinator, Ms. Sanjeeda, as well as our Azad Kashmir Home School Coordinator, Ms. Naila who presided over the ceremony. Students were recognized for their academic achievements and books and supplies were distributed for the upcoming school year.
Books, school supplies, and tuition for students studying at HOPE Formal and Home Schools are sponsored by the generosity of our donors and families living in poverty do not incur these expenses.
HOPE has a strong Educational, Healthcare, and Vocational Training presence in Azad Kashmir.
HOPE's outreach in AJK currently impacts over 2,000 needy families in the region. HOPE has revived the concept of Home Schooling in various remote areas in Pakistan such as AJK, along with urban city neighborhoods and far-flung villages. Home schools engage the communities they serve by employing educated women (whom parents trust) as teachers. Home schools are a cost-effective and innovative solution to addressing the availability of schools barrier that has been overlooked in Pakistan for far too long.
While Azad Kashmir children live amongst breathtaking scenery year-round, their families struggle with meeting basic needs such as Healthcare, Education, and Food Security. The high altitudes at which these families live along with the remoteness of their villages in various mountaintops can pose significant and often life-threatening challenges to the already-burdensome situation of poverty. Political tensions and conflict remain a troublesome reality for families living in contested territories. For over a decade, HOPE has been a prominent interventional aspect of the vitality of Jhelum Valley via our poverty alleviation measures involving Healthcare, Education, Vocational Training, and Food Security .
Much gratitude for your generosity and support!
With Warm Wishes from,
The HOPE USA Team
