In 2022, Pakistan faced unprecedented flooding, one of its history's most catastrophic natural disasters. Torrential rains and flooding swept across vast regions, claiming thousands of lives and displacing millions while causing immense destruction to infrastructure, homes, and livelihoods.
Recognizing the urgent need for relief, Al-Mustafa Welfare Society, in collaboration with partner organizations and local donors, initiated the "Flood Relief Smart Village" project at Nabi Bux Lakho Goth in Nausheroferoze, Sindh. In the first phase, we built 100 houses to support families who lost their homes and livelihoods. We aim to provide long-term, sustainable recovery solutions to help rebuild and rehabilitate affected communities.
The Project
Our primary goal was to develop sustainable, long-term solutions for affected communities. The "Flood Relief Smart Village" project focused on delivering food, shelter, healthcare, and education while creating economic opportunities for flood victims to rebuild their lives.
Key Achievements
Looking ahead, Al-Mustafa Welfare Society remains committed to ensuring community resilience against future disasters. Plans are in place to expand the "Smart Village" model to other vulnerable areas, with further investments in education, healthcare, and economic development to promote self-sufficiency.
