Dear GlobalGiving Community,
Because of your continued generosity, the first five months of 2026 have been a period of profound impact for the youth we serve. When children enter the foster care system, they are routinely handed a trash bag for their few belongings. At Comfort Cases, our mission is to replace those trash bags with dignity and hope—and a crucial part of that mission is ensuring every child has something warm, new, and truly their own to wear to sleep.
We are writing to share the tangible difference your funding has made this year.
By the Numbers: January – May 2026
Between January 1 and May 31, 2026, your support enabled us to successfully distribute 18,607 pairs of brand-new pajamas to youth transitioning into the foster care system.
Initial Q1 Distribution: 13,518 pairs
Spring Surge Distribution: 5,089 pairs
Total Impact: 18,607 youth reached
These pajamas were specifically sized and sorted to serve every age group in the system, ensuring that no child was left out:
Infants & Toddlers: Providing soft, safe sleepwear for the most vulnerable.
Children: Delivering fun, comforting patterns that help restore a sense of childhood normalcy.
Teens: Ensuring older youth—who are disproportionately overlooked in donation drives—receive adult-sized, comfortable sleepwear that respects their dignity.
Why Pajamas Matter
To many, a pair of pajamas is a simple everyday item. To a child experiencing the trauma of displacement, it means so much more.
A brand-new pair of pajamas provides immediate physical comfort in an unfamiliar environment. More importantly, it signals to that child that they are valued. It is a powerful psychological reset: instead of wearing the clothes they arrived in—which may be worn, soiled, or carry the weight of a difficult day—they are given something completely new and entirely theirs. It is the first step toward a safe, restful night's sleep.
Looking Ahead
As we move into the second half of 2026, the need remains critical. Every day, more children enter the system requiring immediate support. Because of your partnership, we are better positioned than ever to meet them at their point of need with a Comfort Case packed with essentials, including those vital new pajamas.
