With multiple circumstances surrounding poor sexual and reproductive health and right in Cameroon, Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) aims to provide menstrual hygiene education and empowerment for vulnerable girls as well as health advocacy. Understanding the local context, traditional norms and fundamental human rights are crucial to achieving gender equality and well-being for girls and women.
Beyond creating awareness and supporting young girls to access menstrual information and services, IAA is engaging local community members with girls and women to dialogue on the implication of certain customs and traditions on sexual and reproductive health, as well as the importance of WASH facilities and equipment at every places in the society to promote women's development, dignity and health. IAA has reached over 200 community members in the last three months with infomation surrounding poor sexual and reproductive health of girls and women especially in communities that highly practice female genital mutilation and child marriage. IAA hopes that with girls being used as agents to advocate for their health and rights, with the broader community understanding of the devastating consequences of certain customs and traditions and practices, there would be a sustainable change which will lead to gender equality and women development.
Our goal is $15000 and thank you for your continued donation through GlobalGiving, which ensures that we continue to provide vital sexual and reproductive health informationand services, and women advocacy in our community. Thank you for being part of our donor and supporter community!
