In October 2020, with the help of a new sponsor, the South East Asia Foundation, we distributed food packages to students in the Prasat Bakong district for the first time. Food aid is not really part of our self-imposed mission, but where help is needed and funds are available, it is right that we contribute. We have also worked with monks from Wat Kesararm and Wat Domnak temples who have distributed food parcels to villagers around Tonle Sap Lake and to families in Kleang district, Kampong Thom province.
This November, we partnered with Rural School Support Organization(RSSO), which provides the most urgent food to those most in need. The RSSO is a non-governmental organization , established only in 2019, and seeks to maintain food supplies in the Covid-19 pandemic for families at massive risk of hunger with the help of primarily US donations. Now we have a commitment from the RSSO to support us with a grant that will fund three more months of food assistance. Together with the teachers, we select the neediest hundred students. Unfortunately, the need for food aid far exceeds our budget and we are doing our best to identify those most in need. In this quarter, We have already contribute to one primary school with 42learners.
We are still looking for more support to continuce this project. Sharing is caring.
Because the measures to combat the pandemic cut off the population in the villages from work and earning opportunities and from access to basic food supplies. Since January 2021, we put together care packages of food supply to 3primary schools, around 100 learners and We also collaborated with our network and friend, named Mr Andreas and the monks from Wat Kesararm&Wat Domnak, who delivered the food relief packages to the villagers around Tonle Sap and families in the Kleang district in Kampong Thom province.
The financial cost of the parcels is not very high, but the help provided with them is valuable and highly welcomed by the families. In addition to the food, Anlong Pi in particular was affected by severe restrictions, including travel bans. Thus the way to the daily food support was also blocked. Since our local team was of course not allowed to travel in the region, we handed over the food for the neediest families to the local authorities, who then took care of the distribution. For this, our great thanks also go to the staff there, who are on the front line and do not have an easy task.
Thank you very much for your support and continuce support. Without you we can make this work happend. We hope you are going to support us more in the future.
We still continuce with package of emergency care to students in our target area as the covid 19 still continuce spreading. The limit of travel still continuce, so the students's parent still difficult access to their income. We have delivered 35 packages sent to Momeanh Elementary School due to labor shortages and lack of financial stability during the global pandemic. At this point in time they have little or no access to basic foodstuffs that they can provide for their children. This delivery can help them see light at the end of the tunnel. Many thanks to all donor and supporter for their great financial and spiritual support.
At the beginning of the year 2021, the Kamboo Project Team got right back to work. We put together 30 care packages for 30 students and brought them to Boeun Chum Primary School. This elementary school is located in the countryside and is 40 kilometers from the nearest town. In addition to food supplies for the school children and families in need, we also handed over portable hand washing equipment. The day of the visit was used for extensive hygiene training for the school children and families. The hygiene minestream is focus on Handwashing and also provide materials that they can use at home. We thank our loyal donors for making such actions possible and looking forward to receiveing more fund for a great project in pandemic time.
Firstly, we would like to express gratitude to our donor and supporters who sponsor to make this great work happen. All Stakeholders of Norodom Sna Songkream Primary School- especially all its students who are received the package emergency care are excited to receive a care package at this time.
Since March 2019 that COVID 19 starting spitting out to many countries around the world. Cambodia is also one of the families affected by this virus. Since that month, schools all across Cambodia are closed due to the virus SARS-CoV-2. Parents are desperate to secure daily food support for their families. Because of SARS-CoV-2, there are many families losing their jobs, and therefore access to income. Some families cannot event support their own daily meal. We want to help them while this pandemic as much as we can. We think that Hand sanity is one of the core elements of effective combat against coronavirus or other bacteria. A food package will help them to overcome hardship.
