We have ambitious plans for 2020 to expand our impact, empower our local partners, and ensure health care for thousands of additional Ecuadorians in need. Our vision for #PACH2020 is to: *Bring 20/20 vision to 20 new communities *Care for all 20 teeth of at least 200 children, and *Provide Cervical Cancer screening to 2,020 women. In all, we aim to treat at least 20,200 patients next year.
At PACH, we know that healthy families are key to building strong communities. However, in Ecuador quality health care is often inaccessible, unaffordable, and out of reach. Many families go without basic medical, vision, and dental care, resulting in unnecessary suffering and contributing to adverse socio-economic outcomes.
PACH works with local partners to build affordable and accessible health care solutions and supports our local partners to drive change in their communities. Services include vision screenings and glasses for children; vision exams, reading glasses, and cataract surgeries for adults; women's health promotion and cervical cancer screenings and treatment; dental care, and more.
*With access to glasses, children can participate in their studies and other opportunities without the barrier of a vision impairment and attain success in the classroom and beyond. *With corrected vision, adults can continue to pursue their livelihoods with excellence, increasing productivity and economic development. *Cervical cancer screenings save women's lives. Women continue to support the prosperity of the next generation of leaders and invest in their communities.
