We are grateful for everyone who has helped JAC serve our re-entry clients during COVID-19. We have been able to provide legal services indoors with masks, outdoors and online, as needed.
Each month we perform an assessment of the COVID numbers due to the fluctuating cases and deaths. Our guidelines vary due to the case severity.
During this period, we provided legal advice on child support/custody, traffic matters, driver’s licenses, and Transportation Worker Identification Cards to 18 formerly incarcerated people thanks to our volunteers and partners’ time, energy, and expertise. Each clinic is supported with masks, hand sanitizer and gloves. An intake worker is also now staffed to provide a COVID questionnaires to each attendee. COVID-19 require us to continue to modify how we provide services. Our new protocols can allow for social distancing, provide PPE, eliminate paperwork being passed back and forth, and create virtual solutions for those who have underlying health conditions preventing them from attending clinics in person.
We are extremely grateful for your continued support in helping us serve the community.
