“Out Run Ebola: Awareness/Protection for Children”

THINK safe Homes received 29 new admissions: 6 Rape cases, 11 juvenile cases, and World Hope International referred 12 Human Trafficking cases.
Age disaggregation: (0-5) = 6, (6-12) =14, (13-17) = 9, (>18) = 0 survivors. Four residents were taken for follow-up hospital visits, 25 received individual counseling, 30 participated in Group counseling, 12 survivors were reunified, and 6 follow up visits were made. The residents participated in creative arts, recreation, Health Talk, and educational activities. There are 17 residents presently in the safe homes (6 survivors of sexual violence and 11 children in contact with the law).
THINK has an Adolescent Girls’ program running in three counties. UN Women sponsored a one week Strategic Dialogue on decision-making and leadership skills development for 45 adolescent girls and young women from July 17 – 22, 2017. The participants came from rural Montserrado, Gbarpolu and Lofa Counties.
The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection held a three-day Girls’ Conference from August 1 – 3, 2017 for 220 girls under the Theme: “Girls Leading for Advocacy, Networking and Advancing Positive Change in Communities”. The girls came from all 15 counties of Liberia that is held annually.
