Advancing the Rights of Adolescent Girls Project

THINK, as an implementing partner of UN Women, has just started a short-term, 4 months with the UN/Government Of Liberia Joint Programme on Adolescent Girls (JPAG) in Montserrado, Margibi and Gbarpolu Counties. This term is the third phase of the project helping adolescent girls to know their rights, participate in basic literacy, acquire business skills, life skills, learn about HIV/AIDS, Sexual and Gender Based Violence prevention and response and interact with each other using sports, music and drama.

450 adolescent girls and young women mobilized and recruited from 6 communities: Bensonville 100, Careysburg 100, Totoquellie 100, Soul Clinic 50, Gaza 50 and Wroh 50.
The girls enrolled for the project with 51 interested in Business Development Skills and 49 in need of Literacy &Numeracy. Totoquellie, 100: Business Development Skills 50 and Literacy &Numeracy 50
Soul Clinic, 50: Business Development Skills 30 and Literacy &Numeracy 20
Gaza, 50: Business Development Skills 25 and Literacy& Numeracy 25
Wroh, 50: Business Development Skills 25 and Literacy & Numeracy Training 25
