Year-end Field Trip To the Beach

Happy New Year, 2020!

  • THINK safe Homes have 19 residents, with 0 new admissions during this reporting period.
  • Age disaggregation: (0-5) = 1, (6-12) = 1, (13-17) = 17, (>18) = 0.
  • Cases: Rape 1, Human Trafficking 1, Abandoned 4, Protection 12, Lost & Found 1
  • The children have been involved in their regular educational activities, receiving psychosocial support and counseling, engaged in creative arts and recreational activities. The residents were taken for a field trip to the beach where they had a picnic and played games, the adolescent girls swam at the edge of the ocean while the little ones swam in a blow-up pool that had ocean water filled into it.
  • THINK continues to participate in networking activities with other local and international partners. THINK participated in an exercise of mapping Human Rights institutions in Liberia that monitor human rights in the country.
  • As a member of the Women’s NGO Secretariat of Liberia (WONGOSOL), THINK also participated in awareness creation in one community school in Montserrado County, and was one of the WONGOSOL members selected to visit three safe homes in operation in the midst of serious economic challenges in Liberia. The three safe homes are situated, one in Montserrado County and two in Margibi County. The three safe homes visited, were  the THINK Safe Homes, the Women Aid Safe Home, and the Safe Home operated by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection. The visit was to assess the living condition of the residents and to interact with the residents. The Network donated food items to each of the homes.
  • THINK is part of a group of 25 stakeholders of civil society that were turned over to the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection by IRC in December 2019.

We are extremely grateful to our faithful donors and partners for continuing to donate to THINK Liberia and helping us to close 2019 with smiles on the faces of our beneficiaries. We wish all of you a very prosperous new year and new decade.
