“Out Run Ebola: Awareness/Protection For Children”
July 23, 2019
The THINK Safe Home and Juvenile Home continue to provide shelter and protection for vulnerable children and survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence including Human Trafficking. This year is a transitional year for THINK with the restructuring of the administration and the Board of Directors. With this process, THINK has not taken in any new cases this quarter. The organization is working closely with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to ensure that the quality of services continues with the little funds received.
THINK celebrates the passing of the Domestic Violence Act of 2019 by the House of Representatives. The Act has been sent to the Liberian Senate for concurrence. After many years of advocacy, THINK joins other civil society organizations in congratulating Members of the House of Representatives for this victory. A separate draft Bill is being prepared for banning Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). In the meantime, the National Traditional Council of Liberia has signed a one-year Memorandum of Understanding to stop all traditional 'bush schools' in order to start the process of creating awareness among the practitioners.
THINK wishes to thank all of you our donors who have stood with us over the years to provide protection, counseling, medical, and services to survivors and their families.
THANK YOU!
