During the emergency response in Lebanon, URDA, with the generous support of GlobalGiving donors and partners, played a critical role in managing and supporting several shelter schools that became safe havens for displaced families fleeing conflict and insecurity.
As thousands of vulnerable individuals sought refuge, our teams worked around the clock to ensure that shelter residents had access to essential relief items and dignified living conditions. Through this intervention, families received critical assistance including mattresses, blankets, hygiene kits, cleaning supplies, food support, drinking water, and other necessities required to meet their immediate needs.
Beyond the provision of material assistance, URDA recognized the profound psychological and emotional impact of displacement, particularly on children. To address these challenges, we implemented a wide range of psychosocial and recreational activities designed to promote emotional well-being, resilience, and a sense of normalcy during a period of uncertainty and distress.
Children participated in educational and recreational sessions, arts and crafts activities, sports, storytelling, group games, and psychosocial support programs that provided safe spaces for expression, learning, and healing. These activities helped reduce stress, strengthen social connections, and restore hope among displaced children and their families.
The success of this response was made possible through the compassion and generosity of GlobalGiving donors from around the world. Your support enabled us to respond rapidly, meet urgent humanitarian needs, and stand beside families during one of the most challenging periods they faced.
We extend our sincere gratitude to every individual donor, supporter, and partner who contributed to this appeal. Your solidarity transformed generosity into tangible impact, providing relief, dignity, comfort, and hope to countless displaced families across Lebanon.
Together, we have demonstrated that even in times of crisis, collective action can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those most in need.
Thank you for standing with Lebanon and supporting vulnerable families when they needed it most.
