Progress Continues August 2026 update

By Jayson Charles Stirrup | Director

It’s my pleasure to share an update on how your contributions are impacting life here at Casa Hogar in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, which is currently home to 26 full-time residents between the ages of 4 and 17.

Another Quinceañera

In March, We celebrated Mayte’s quinceañera with a beautiful daytime gathering that honored this important cultural milestone. She looked radiant in a stunning red gown, and the entire celebration was filled with warmth, pride, and joy. The day included music, dancing, games, and a shared meal, creating an atmosphere where Mayte could feel truly seen and celebrated. Events like these are deeply meaningful, offering our youth a sense of identity, belonging, and recognition as they reach important stages in their lives. It was a special day not only for Mayte, but for the entire Casa Hogar family

New Residents

In April, we welcomed seven new residents who were transferred from a government-run facility. Before any transition was finalized, the children spent half a day with us so they could experience the environment, meet the staff and residents, and personally decide whether Casa Hogar Cabo felt like a place they wanted to call home. We are grateful and humbled that every one of them decided to transfer. Their decision speaks deeply to the sense of safety, warmth, and connection that your support helps make possible each day.

Congratulations, Dr. Elias!

Casa Hogar currently has four university scholars pursuing higher education. In June, it was an absolute privilege to celebrate an extraordinary milestone as one of those scholars, Elias, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Universidad Autónoma de Durango, Mazatlán campus.

Watching Elias walk across the stage to receive his medical degree was a deeply meaningful moment for everyone who has supported his journey over the years. Having lost both of his parents, Elias has overcome challenges that could easily have derailed his dreams. Instead, through determination, perseverance, and the support of many caring people—including you—he has achieved something remarkable.

As an added blessing, Elias also found love during medical school. He and his girlfriend graduated together from the same program, and her family has warmly embraced him as one of their own. Together they will begin the next chapter of their professional lives by completing their medical residencies in Los Mochis. We could not be prouder of the compassionate young man—and now physician—that Elias has become.

On behalf of our children and teens, thank you for the love and hope you bring to Casa Hogar. We are moving through 2026 with strength and optimism, and we look forward to sharing more good news with you in the months ahead.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Jayson Stirrup
