Dear donors greetings to all you from the heart of HEARTS.
Great to see you all once again through this GG Quarterly Report.
Happy to say from this academic year we have taken new kids, most of them are below 12 years old. Now the number of children went up to 60 from 43! Most of the kids are full orphans and others are who lost their mothers. New kids are very happy, feeding all the children with nutritious food every day like milk, egg and on Sundays Chicken/Fish curries will be served.
Every day, children go to schools and colleges at 9AM, elementary children back to LHO at 4PM, High school children come back by 5:30 and college students come back after 6PM. 2 tutors regularly come to teach and help children by 5:30PM and stay with children 7:30PM. Our main focus are on Maths and English subjects.
From last month 5 day week tutoring. Saturday and Sundays are free time to play, shout, dance and watch TV whatever they want to watch like movies, cartoons shows etc., Children have full freedom and at the same time discipline with love and consistency.
Almost all the children come from down trodden communities, slums, villages. They come without proper clothing, without manners. Their backgrounds are so sad and pathetic to listen. We never see a woman without tears when they come to LHO along with their children for admission. Heart breaking stories!!
These of children often feel loneliness and big cry for care and love. We try to make and keep them happy. Lot of patience needs to be shown to bring them back to main stream of life. Running an orphanage is not as easy as we speak!
Whenever a child feels sick, immediately we take them to the nearby children's hospital for treatment. It's very fortunate we found a Children's specialist for treatment for free of cost. His name is Dr. S Rao who is very kind for our children. We thank him for his services for free.
On every holiday all the children go to nearby Police Parade and Darga grounds to play. Elder children love to play Cricket, girls like to play Shuttle Batmenton.
Many local people from Nellore town come and celebrate Birthdays, Marriage Anniversaries, Memorials by donating food, biscuits, chocolates and cakes. On Saturday a man donated Rs.1500 for Chicken. Some students donate Note Books, Pens, Pencils. Engineering College students also frequently visit LHO and play with children. We encourage those guys visit again and again.
After tutoring is over at 7:30 they play for half an hour and go to dinner. After dinner also they go for walking and play till 9:30PM. All the lights will be off by 9:30PM. You can see children all the time with smile and laughing.
Whenever there are holidays for more than two days most of the children will be sent to their homes to celebrate festivals and to attend rituals with their families.
From 7th standard children wake up by 5 AM and get ready for studies till 7:30. Elementary children wake up by 6AM.
Recently we have changed ground flooring floor with new tiles which is looking nice and beautiful. The old flooring was 14 years old.
A longtime friend from USA donated 1000USD and also promised to donate more in the future who visited LHO ten years ago!
We appointed another new worker to help and take care of children. Also we need to a part time worker to work along with the existing workers.
All the children at LHO doing well. Please donate more to make existing kitchen bigger one and to buy new kitchenware.
We will get back to you with more information in our next GG report.
Until then, thank you very much.
