Mobile Health Unit Serving Flood-Affected Families

By Muhammad Imad Ud Din | Project Leader

Title: Mobile Health Unit Serving Flood-Affected Families in Rasoolpur

Summary

Alkhidmat Foundation provided essential healthcare services to flood-affected families in Mouza Rasoolpur through its Mobile Health Unit (MHU). Around 100 families living in a tent city benefitted from free medical check-ups, diagnostic tests, and essential medicines—delivered right at their doorstep.

Story / Update

After the floods, displaced families in Rasoolpur were left vulnerable, not only to the loss of homes and livelihoods but also to the rapid spread of diseases due to poor sanitation and lack of access to healthcare. Families living in temporary shelters faced severe risks, with children, women, and the elderly most affected.

To address this urgent health crisis, Alkhidmat’s Mobile Health Unit visited the tent city in Rasoolpur and provided:

  • Comprehensive health check-ups

  • On-site diagnostic tests

  • Free essential medicines

Through this initiative, patients suffering from infections, fevers, water-borne diseases, and chronic illnesses were treated promptly. For many families, this was the only medical care available since the floods disrupted regular healthcare facilities.

Beneficiaries

  • Direct Impact: 100 flood-affected families in Rasoolpur Tent City.

  • Indirect Impact: Hundreds of individuals, including children, women, and elderly, gained access to free healthcare.

Impact

  • Ensured access to healthcare in a disaster-hit area.

  • Reduced the risk of disease outbreaks in the tent city.

  • Provided dignity and relief by bringing medical services to people’s doorsteps.

Next Steps

Alkhidmat plans to continue running Mobile Health Units across flood-affected areas to ensure families receive sustained healthcare until permanent facilities are restored.

Gratitude Note
