Why we need organic food?
'Organic food is the product of a farming system which avoids the use of man-made fertilisers, pesticides; growth regulators and livestock feed additives
Production costs for organic foods are typically higher because of greater labor input and because farmers don't produce enough of a single product to lower the overall cost..
But studies have reported that organic produce has higher levels of vitamin C, certain minerals, and antioxidants -- thought to protect the body against aging, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.
Benefit of organic food is that it is pesticide free, which is definitely better for the environment.
With our awareness, 180 farmers started doing organic cultivation in our project area. Though it is costing high labor charges and more effort to cultivate since it will be good for their family and it can be sold locally.Their green vegetables are giving them a good return.
