Because of the proven success of our Prep for Success Program, preparing grade 8 students for the mandatory Kenyan Certificate of Primary Education exam, we have more students enrolled at our three Focus Schools than ever before.
In Kenya, parents can enroll their children at any public school that they can get them to. As a result, enrollment in the three schools we support has swelled and instead of the average of 200 students in the program in years past, there are over 260 students this year.
Funds are needed to support our programs now more than ever. We have many more children to feed every day and inflation has increased the cost of food tremendously. Parents have been asked to make a contribution of ingredients, but this can create a hardship for families and is not the ideal solution to the problem.
