OperationREAD continues to run its reading campaign while facing considerable funding challenges.
In addition to ongoing programs OperationREAD is adding two reading initiatives to help increase the number of program beneficiaries
We are grateful to have been recipients of a collection of children’s books from American author Karen Lyn Williams who has generously donated five titles from her children’s books. The beautifully illustrated titles are a wonderful addition to our reading initiatives for children and will go a long way in helping children learn to read.
A remedial reading initiative in also started at Mulambwa Basic School working with students to help improve their reading level to that of their grade level. 50 students are currently being enrolled for the initiative whose goal is to bring the students up to their reading level by the end of the year.
Even with considerable challenges, the initiative continues to achieve significant results. It is envisioned that recent changes to the fundraising strategy will help increase donations to support effective implementation.
Given the initiative is completely reliant on individual donations, we continue to encourage supporters to support the initiative by making a donation as well as share the project with their networks.
We thank past donors for their kind and generous support and continue to urge them to consider making a retainer gift to help meet project objectives.
