Operation 100 is our bold strategy to bring essential surgical care closer to patients' homes by investing in frontline health workers and strengthening district hospitals. We will start by equipping 100 cleft operative teams with advanced skills, essential equipment, and enhanced health infrastructure across 100 hospitals.
Over 5 billion people worldwide still lack access to safe surgical care. An additional 2.2 million surgeons, anesthetists and obstetricians are needed globally to meet the need.
Operation Smile equips frontline health workers with the skills and resources to deliver sustainable, high-quality care independently for their communities. Our goal is for patients to receive care from health care providers who look like them, speak their language and understand their unique context.
