Combat Malnutrition with Beekeeping in South Sudan

Beekeeping is a rural area economic  activity that has the potential to stimulate local development, and boost income generations giving the beneficiaries the opportunity to provide them with basic needs, and of their families.

Hope Ofiriha purchased a wax melter, and two (2) wire frames, these assets will be donated to a new beekeeping group in the village.

The beneficiaries are very eager to see this project progressing. They need your help to set up new bee-keeping organizations.

Bee-keeping is important economic activity in rural communities of South Sudan. This activity has helped boost women’s income in Omilling, and the beneficiaries are able to provide for their basic needs. Really good!

HO supplied - two stainless steel smokers, one com cutter, and new 50 beehives to be distributed to new group.

The beneficiaries are very eager to see this project progressing. They need your help to your to set up new bee-keeping organization in Omilling.

While our communities had just started to adjust from the shocks and devastation of prolonged civil war, they were yet met by airstrikes and ground assaults launched against South Sudan in the bordering states by Sudan armed forces and militant allies. This brought more unnecessary displacement, vulnerability, anguish and human suffering.

Life in the South Sudan – Sudan bordering states became unbearable as cost of living steadily skyrocketed. While two nations have signed a deal to promote peaceful coexistence, the impact of recent conflict include Abyei has caused humanitarian needs to the affected people.

We therefore, request our partners to continue their support to Hope Ofiriha and more importantly to the needy and vulnerable groups in the communities. We look forward to working with all of you in 2013.
