Be a doctor - send a smile!

Dear friends and supporters of Magic Hospital,

we apologize profusely for not having sent you updates, organizing new events has still proven challenging. The more we hope you are pleased to see these images of children brightening the Great Wall of China with their smiles. Most tourists had the pleasure of visiting this stunning Unesco World Heritage site, it was a first for these 10 children...

Their age ranged between 9 and 20 years, most of them 13 and 14. Their home is a village in Hebei Province (around 60 minutes drive from Beijing) , the so called Leukemia Village. They live there with their families to recover from this life threatening disease...

We plan to cooperate more and to do more there, and cooperate with a small organisation, Happy School, which is active in that village. We will send you more information shortly.

But back to the exciting visit. Each child received a little red goodie string bag, we brought fruit and hot water, covered of course the costs for the outing. What these kids go through is heartbreaking, but their laughter was heartwarming. Of course the parents came along too!

This fun day was possible in cooperation with three women from the Outdoor Group Wild Women on the Wall , Happy School, our tireless coordinator Mirjam, the parents, and your donations. Thank you for creating a wonderful memory!

Dear Magic Hospital community,

we hope this finds you well, and also your loved ones and friends.

Today we bear good news. Do you remember the twin brothers JinSong & JinKai from Yunnan province? Back in March, both brothers were hospitalised in the Huaxin hospital where they both had to undergo a heart operation. Imagine the anxious and stressful period for them being thousans of miles away from their home, school, friends...

The nurses from Huaxin hospital had contacted us about them...

While hospitalised they had received some gifts which were left from the Xmas drive, BUT their true wish was to visit the cool Dinosaur Park in Kunming, about 1hour away from where they live. We had decided back then that we wanted to make their wish come true...

Of course not all goes always as planned. First of course recovery was the most important issue. May became an option for the trip but their grandmother fell ill,  and it was then in August that their long awaited moment came true.  When we heard that they went we were so happy, as this also meant that they continue to recover very nicely!

Under the Abracadabra program hotel, food , journey all costs were covered. So it gave them time to scout, explore the park in all its splendor and savor their precious moment. 

The Thank you goes to all of you and your generous donations. You helped to create an unforgettable childhood memory for them, made their faces smile, took their minds off the hospital experience, helped them feeling normal again and doing "kids stuff'!
