Summary

Mexico is the second country that after the pandemic will have the highest school dropouts between the ages of 6 and 17, approximately 628,000 students, according to IDB calculations. With HOMEWORK we want to give teachers tools to continue teaching online classes, such as computers, chairs and internet. With this we can ensure that thousands of children can continue in school despite the pandemic.

Challenge

Mexico is the second country that after the pandemic will have the highest school dropouts between the ages of 6 and 17, approximately 628,000 students, according to IDB calculations. This is because the way theachers work and schools has changed forever. Unfortunately, they do not have the adequate tools to continue giving online classes in a dignified and efficient way. This has also triggered repercussions for physical and mental health, school dropouts, among other problems.

Solution

The follow-up of the teachers to the students is essential to avoid school dropout. This will be accomplished by equipping teachers with the tools to keep working. Our ally is Homework. Expert company in remote work, with a monthly membership project to give work tools that can be computers, internet, desks or chairs. With a $ 45 monthly donation, a teacher will receive the tools they need to teach online classes. This impacts more than 50 students per teacher every day.

Long-Term Impact

In Mexico, online classes are expected to continue for at least one more year. Thanks to this project, we will ensure that the dropouts in school do not continue. We know that if a student leaves school, it will be very difficult for them to return later.
