Dear donor,
At the beginning of each school year when we accept new scholarship students in their first year of secondary school (5th grade) and new students starting high school (9th grade) , we try to give them notebook computers. Priority is given to students taking part in on-line educational seminars “Pebbles of Science” for secondary school and “Young Starfish” for high schools.
We also give laptop computers to university scholarship students so they can follow free on-line CYDD English language courses and also use them for their studies.
The notebook Hometech computers we give to 5th grade students hopefully last until they graduate from high school but we also have to have a budget for their depreciation.
We try to make purchases when we find good deals and we bought about 300 Hometech computers and 500 Lenovo laptop computers beginning of this school year. We will need to make new purchases for the second group of secondary school students to attend the Pebbles of Science seminars in the next term.
Access to digital technology has become important since the pandemic and it has become one of our major ongoing projects.
We thank you for your donations and look forward to the continuation of your support.
Kind regards,
