For many children living in underserved communities, staying in school is not simply a matter of willingness to learn. Poverty can make school fees, books, stationery, uniforms, and daily meals difficult or impossible for families to provide.
Good Cause Foundation Uganda's education project seeks to remove some of these barriers by supporting vulnerable learners throughout their educational journey. The project provides school fees, scholastic materials, and school lunch to children from disadvantaged households.
We focus particularly on children entering secondary school and support them throughout the six years of secondary education. For learners who successfully complete secondary school, we also seek to support their transition into tertiary institutions for vocational training, practical skills development, and certification.
By supporting learners consistently rather than only once, we hope to create greater continuity in their education and reduce the likelihood that poverty will force them out of school.
Objectives:
To reduce education-related barriers faced by vulnerable children.
To increase school enrollment and retention among disadvantaged learners.
To help children complete secondary education.
To provide learners with necessary scholastic materials.
To support school lunch programs for children who may struggle to access adequate meals during the school day.
To create pathways for eligible learners to access tertiary education, vocational training, and certification.
A donation today can help a child remain in school, continue learning, and move closer to a self-reliant future.
