One Child, One Future: Educate to Liberate

Education can change the direction of a child's life, but children living in poverty often face barriers that make it difficult to reach their full potential. School fees may keep them out of class, lack of scholastic materials can limit their participation, and hunger can make learning extremely difficult.

Good Cause Foundation seeks to provide a continuous support system for vulnerable children by helping them access and remain in education. Through this project, children from underserved communities will receive school fees, scholastic materials and school lunch.

Support will begin with children joining secondary school and, where possible, continue throughout the six years of secondary education. After secondary school, the project will also support young people entering tertiary institutions for skilling and certification, helping them acquire practical knowledge that can contribute to their future livelihoods.

Objectives of the Project

To remove financial barriers to secondary education by supporting school fees for children from underprivileged households.

To provide children with essential educational resources including books and other scholastic materials required for successful learning.

To improve learners' ability to attend and concentrate in school through the provision of school lunch to vulnerable children.

To support learners through the full secondary education journey, helping reduce interruptions and school dropout caused by poverty.

To provide a bridge from secondary education to practical skills by supporting selected learners entering tertiary institutions for skilling and certification.

To promote long-term self-reliance by helping young people obtain education and practical qualifications that can contribute to future livelihood opportunities.

The project recognizes that keeping a child in school requires more than paying school fees. A learner also needs the basic materials to study, adequate nutrition to remain attentive, and continued support to progress through different stages of education.

With the partnership of GlobalGiving donors, Good Cause Foundation hopes to walk alongside vulnerable learners throughout this journey—from secondary school enrollment to completion, and from education to practical skills and certification.
