The Opening Minds Through Art (OMA) program allows 30 residents with varying stages of dementia to express themselves through art. Working with volunteer partners, residents have created beautiful works of art in a variety of mediums.
The highlight of each semester’s OMA Program is the opening of the art exhibit including a dinner for the artists, their family members and volunteers followed by an opportunity to proudly show their loved ones the masterpieces they have created.
We just completed our 13th session of OMA in May. The residents once again enjoyed the opportunity to create art that they can share with others. “When I was a teacher, I made art like this with my students. I love working with the paint and sponges,” said one resident.
Your donation to the OMA Program will be used to purchase art supplies for the talented artists.
