Healthcare and the Independent & Assisted Living residents living at Cedar Village Retirement Community in Mason, Ohio enjoyed participating in the Spring Semester of our Opening Minds Through Art (OMA) program.
This project, in partnership with the Scripps Gerontology Department at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, has provided an amazing opportunity for people living with dementia to create beautiful artwork with only a small amount of assistance by trained OMA volunteers. The mood is peaceful, and the residents are given the space to expand their minds in creative ways that are truly incredible.
At the end of April, our artists and their families enjoyed a wonderful reception followed by the opportunity to see the new exhibit in the Cedar Village Art Gallery which included a piece of art from each of our 35 OMA artists.
Funds provided to Opening Minds Through Art will help support this program for current and future residents living with dementia at Cedar Village including supplies for our special OMA artists.
