Hello everyone!
Today we celebrate APAE de Valinhos’s 46th anniversary! It is thrilling to think that, 46 years ago, Father Leopoldo Van Liempt planted the seeds that have grown to become what we are today: a well-structured entity that supports approximately 400 people with intellectual deficiencies and their respective families. And it is never too much to say "Thank You" to supporters like you who made it possible with your generous donations!
The celebrations started early this morning, with APAE’s assisted and professionals assembled to sing out loud a Happy Birthday to APAE. At night, the celebrations will go on, open to the local community, with a presentation of the City Philharmonic Orchestra. See short video in APAE's Facebook Fanpage in the link below. Photos of the event will follow soon :).
We are proud to say that we can make a difference in these people’s lives. Projects like the Open Air Gym (thank you guys) or the Project “The Art of Being an Artist”, just to mention a few of the most recently developed, can help people with intellectual deficiencies overcome several physical, psychological and social obstacles and become more easily inserted into society.
I can’t help telling you more about the inspiring Project “The Art of Being an Artist”. APAE invited local photographers to capture images of the ten persons that form APAE’s Theatre Group, each one characterized according to the profession he / she dreamed of following. The result was amazing! Following the photograph sessions, which the photographers involved described as “heart touching”, “a life lesson”, “an unforgettable experience”, “a lot of fun”, there was an Exhibition that went from December through March and was a big success!
Check out the photos attached to be inspired yourself!
Well, that’s all for now. Soon I’ll be back with the photos of the anniversary celebrations ok?
On a last note, we continue counting on your support to publicize our Gym Project to your network!
Best wishes,
