Spring Greetings! New Printers for Dingtao Schools

By OCEF | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Happy Spring!

This time we would like to introduce to you two new elementary schools, Chengzhuang and Huhai. Located in Dingtao, Shandong Province, both schools have been receiving donations from OCEF for a few years, mainly as participants in our library and reading programs. In the past month, we learned that the two schools had problems producing teaching materials and processing official documents because they lack printer, scanner, and copy machine. Therefore, we took a small amount of your donations and bought them what they needed. Although the new equipment seemed to be a small addition, they greatly improved the quality and efficiency of classroom teaching. The teachers and students are all very grateful for your help.

Chengzhuang has about three hundred students and Huhai about four hundred. The students come from six nearby villages where the per capita income barely touches 3,000 RMB per year. In order to better support their families, more than 90% of these students’ parents went to bigger cities to seek work opportunities. With parents absent from their lives, the children learned at a very early age how to take care of themselves. During every visit, we saw their effort to learn and grow and we wished we had done more for them. As a brand new spring comes around, with your incredible help, we will continue to strive to improve education and well-being of the children.

Thank you for all your kindness and support.

Sincerely,

OCEF
