Dear Donors,
Hope you have had a wonderful Lunar New Year! We wish you great happiness and prosperity in the Year of Goat!
Looking back, 2014 had been a year of accomplishments. We provided financial aid to 2,686 students enrolling in elementary, middle, and high schools and helped 84 schools to build their own libraries. In addition, we financially assisted teachers who were willing to teach in underdeveloped areas. Some of our volunteers who had previous teaching experience also offered online English and creative arts lessons to students during school semesters and summer break. We wish that, through these efforts, we can ensure and enrich the quality of learning for our students.
Without you, none of our works would have been able to proceed. We received approximately $570,000 of donations in 2014 and a significant portion of these came from you. On the Microsoft YouthSpark GivingTuesday in December 2014, you helped us raise $26,000 and win $27,000 of matching funds! We cannot thank you enough.
One of our volunteers, Minmin, recorded her experience of visiting seventeen schools near Liuzhou City in Guangxi Province over the course of last year. The schools have been receiving our help starting either 2014 or before that. We would like to share with you some of the best moments the children had using the new learning materials and resources that your donations made possible.
Improving education for children living in rural China is an ongoing project. Sometimes we see the effects of our actions immediately; other times we have to wait with patience and hope until the children show us how capable they can grow to be. We thank you for waiting with us and the children remain grateful for all your kindness.
Sincerely,
Overseas China Education Foundation
