June Graduation Ceremony is always an exciting and proud moment. This year Ocean Academy will celebrate our FOURTEENTH graduating class of 37 students. Many of whom are the first in their families to graduate.
We are very proud that HALF of the graduates are female!!
You, our supporters, have made every step of the way possible. Thank you!
We know that you are especially interested in opportunities and success stories of women and girls.
All four of the top honor students were female:
- Lily, Valedictorian
- Sophie, Salutatorian
- Jadeiry, Award of Excellence
- Daiannie, Vote of Thanks
Four more of the female students were also on the Honor Roll:
- Jazlene
- Kimora
- Zoey
- Emily
We are forever grateful for your support.
YOU are the reason that these teens are able to continue their education despite the adversities they face.
YOU also helped to provide new safe stairs and blocks to keep us out of the high waters.

Tug of War during House Competition Day
Dear Friends and Supporters of Ocean Academy,
Thank you for making a world of difference for our little rural school in Belize to continue educating the teens of Caye Caulker!
As we come to the half way mark of the 2023-2024 school year, we celebrate our female athletes.
THANK YOU for EMPOWERING girls and INSPIRING hope for our island as we continue to recover from the lingering effects of the pandemic.
Thank you for BELIEVING in the POWER of Education.
Because of YOU:
- 39 students were funded to stay in school.
- 16 recurring donations came in every month to inspire continued hope.
- More kind-hearted supporters learned about OA when you spread the word.
- Students expanded their skills and passion for reading with books they chose and you donated and carried down.
- Students focused on learning and parents put food on the table instead of worrying about school fees.
- Faculty and staff immersed themselves into new ways of teaching instead of worrying about school finances.
- Students grew exponentially as they adapted to the demands of life and learning.
As we celebrate the accomplishments of this school year, we prepare for another year of commitment to universal education so that every child on Caye Caulker has access to a high school education.
YOU are making this vision a reality. YOU are changing lives. Thank you.

With Your Help, Ocean Academy Girls Shine

Hello Everyone!!
A quick report on what Ocean Academy girls have been up to.
OA Ladies are starting the 2023-2024 school year off with a bang!
These accomplishments are only possible with YOUR help.
- In honor of International Day of the Girl, Diany was been designated UNICEF Representative for Belize.
- Klerysa and Merary were selected to serve on this year's National Children's Parliament.
- OA girls fielded teams for volleyball and for basketball.
- OA proudly presents our first Cheerleading Squad.
But along with these accomplishments, we are facing some challenges. The rainy season is not kind to us on campus. High rain waters have forced us to close our campus 6 days already this school year. We are working on using block to build an elevated walkway in the area in front of the building. If we can't stop the water, then we'll just walk above it. :)
We hope that our End of Year Fundraising will provide the funds for those blocks.
We are forever grateful for your support.
YOU are the reason that these teens are able to continue their education despite the adversities they face.
