Dear Friend,

Thank you for feeding starving children in Somalia. Your gift means a severely malnourished child received emergency nutrition and is healing and growing strong.

I wanted to let you know that World Concern will no longer be fundraising for this project on GlobalGiving. However, you can continue to feed starving children in Somalia by giving directly to World Concern. You can give Nutripackets here: www.worldconcern.org/nourish

We appreciate your support and hope that you'll continue this great work through World Concern directly. Please call us at 1-800-755-5022 if you have any questions.

With gratitude,

Jacinta Tegman

President, World Concern

Thank you for feeding Leylo and her children!
Thank you for feeding Leylo and her children!

Leylo (name changed) and her children have lived in an impromptu settlement in Somalia for several years. They are alive today because donors like you gave to provide food and water for them.

Thank you for giving!

After her livestock died, Leylo packed up her family’s home and brought her children to the place where she heard there was help and safety.

"I came here with my family when all my animals died. 150 sheep and goats died," Leylo said. “When I lost my livestock, I went in search of food and I knew that some of my family members were already here. They gave us food and clothes when we arrived.”

Because of your gifts, World Concern helps more than 500 households who have lost all their livestock in the drought in this region of Somalia. You’ve enabled us to identify and rescue the most needy families in the camp.

Thank you for feeding children and their families in Somalia. Without your help, they would not survive.

Thank you for saving Naserian's life!
Thank you for saving Naserian's life!

Naserian lives with her mother in Northern Kenya – an area on the verge of famine because it is close to Somalia and drought has engulfed it.

We met Naserian when her mother brought her to an emergency nutrition clinic. The two-year-old girl could not walk. Could not talk. And could not stop crying. She was sick from hunger. And her mother had no food to give to her.

Then something miraculous happened, because of you …

A change began the moment two-year-old Naserian ate her first Nutripacket—a powerful peanut-butter like paste that is packed with specially formulated nutrients, minerals, and vitamins.

Naserian was malnourished and her tummy hurt from hunger. But your gift provided emergency nutrition for her. When she began eating her first Nutripacket she stopped crying immediately!

Nutripackets are life-saving for Naserian and other little ones like her. This ‘miracle’ packet gives a malnourished child everything she needs to gain weight and be healthy.

Thanks to your gift, starving children in remote, hard to reach areas are being restored to health!

Thank you for giving emergency nutrition to Naserian and saving her life!

Thank you for saving Mahamud from starvation!
Thank you for saving Mahamud from starvation!

Because you gave, Mahamud is healthy today. But not long ago he was in serious danger. At three years old, he was terribly underweight and malnourished.

“My son was so sick he could not walk on his own. He needed help because he had no energy,” his mother said.

Drought in Somalia had left Mahamud’s family with no food to eat and only a little goat milk for him to drink. Because of acute malnutrition, he was unable to sleep and had lost his appetite.

Then Mahamud’s mother brought him to the emergency feeding clinic and he was given nutripackets. These packets contain all the protein, nutrients, healthy fats, and vitamins that malnourished children like Mahamud need, combined in a peanut-butter-like paste that tastes good. By eating one of these packets each day for one to three months, a child under age 5 regains strength, begins to gain weight, and returns to health.

“I felt he was starting to get better after two weeks. He started playing with other children and walking again without any support,” Mahamud’s grateful mother said.

Thank you for giving emergency nutrition to save this precious little boy’s life!

Your gift saved Wabar's life!
Your gift saved Wabar's life!

Thanks to you, Wabar is healthy now! When his mother first brought him to our emergency feeding clinic, his arm measured in the red zone. That meant he was dangerously malnourished. This made him sick, and if he didn’t get the proper nutrition soon his entire life would be affected by poor development and stunted growth. He could even die.

But, thanks to your gift, Wabar was given emergency food packets that provided all he needed to gain weight and return to health. These packets contain all the protein, nutrients, healthy fats, and vitamins that malnourished children like Wabar need, combined in a peanut-butter-like paste that tastes good. By eating one of these packets each day for one to three months, a child under age 5 regains strength, begins to gain weight, and returns to health.

Thank you for giving emergency nutrition to Wabar and saving his life!
