Nutrition Packets for Starving Kids in Somalia

Leylo (name changed) and her children have lived in an impromptu settlement in Somalia for several years. They are alive today because donors like you gave to provide food and water for them.

Thank you for giving!

After her livestock died, Leylo packed up her family’s home and brought her children to the place where she heard there was help and safety.

"I came here with my family when all my animals died. 150 sheep and goats died," Leylo said. “When I lost my livestock, I went in search of food and I knew that some of my family members were already here. They gave us food and clothes when we arrived.”

Because of your gifts, World Concern helps more than 500 households who have lost all their livestock in the drought in this region of Somalia. You’ve enabled us to identify and rescue the most needy families in the camp.

Thank you for feeding children and their families in Somalia. Without your help, they would not survive.

Naserian lives with her mother in Northern Kenya – an area on the verge of famine because it is close to Somalia and drought has engulfed it.

We met Naserian when her mother brought her to an emergency nutrition clinic. The two-year-old girl could not walk. Could not talk. And could not stop crying. She was sick from hunger. And her mother had no food to give to her.

Then something miraculous happened, because of you …

A change began the moment two-year-old Naserian ate her first Nutripacket—a powerful peanut-butter like paste that is packed with specially formulated nutrients, minerals, and vitamins.

Naserian was malnourished and her tummy hurt from hunger. But your gift provided emergency nutrition for her. When she began eating her first Nutripacket she stopped crying immediately!

Nutripackets are life-saving for Naserian and other little ones like her. This ‘miracle’ packet gives a malnourished child everything she needs to gain weight and be healthy.

Thanks to your gift, starving children in remote, hard to reach areas are being restored to health!

Thank you for giving emergency nutrition to Naserian and saving her life!
