Building Resilience Through Continued Farming Support

By Ivan Seguya | Project leader

Vulnerable families can easily fall back into hardship when agricultural support stops before they have developed enough capacity to continue independently. Nurture 200 Children’s Lives therefore focuses on strengthening knowledge and productive opportunities over time.

F SSIBU Mission Foundation is continuing to engage families through farming education, seed distribution, poultry support, and household livelihood development.

Our agricultural sessions help families understand how to plan farming activities, select suitable crops, manage soil, protect plants, and improve harvesting. Where families receive seeds or other inputs, we emphasize responsible use and practical knowledge.

We also encourage diversification. Families are supported to consider household gardens and poultry alongside crop farming so they are not dependent on a single source of food or income.

Girls participate in these activities to develop practical skills and a stronger understanding of how livelihoods are built.

Donors play an important role in maintaining continuity. Their contributions can help provide seasonal seeds, training materials, farming tools, poultry resources, and follow-up visits.

The objective is to help families progress from immediate support toward greater self-reliance.

For the children within Nurture 200, that progress matters. A stronger family may be better able to provide food, education materials, clothing, healthcare, and a stable environment.

Our vision is therefore not simply to support a family through one season. It is to help create a foundation that can continue producing benefits.

With your partnership, we can continue nurturing families until agricultural knowledge becomes productive capacity and productive capacity becomes lasting resilience.
