we believe that lasting change for children begins with strengthening the families and guardians who care for them. Poverty often prevents caregivers from meeting basic needs, leaving children vulnerable to school absenteeism, inadequate nutrition, poor living conditions and early dropout. Our Skills-Based Livelihood Training and Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) are helping families overcome these challenges and build sustainable futures.

Through our livelihood training, vulnerable guardians are equipped with practical, income-generating skills such as tailoring, mat weaving, poultry rearing, agribusiness and other small-enterprise activities. These skills provide caregivers with opportunities to earn income, start small businesses and gradually become more financially independent. Rather than relying only on short-term assistance, families are gaining the capacity to create lasting solutions for themselves and their children.

The benefits are felt directly by the children we serve. As household income improves, caregivers are better able to provide school requirements, nutritious food, clothing, healthcare and other essential needs. This helps reduce the economic pressures that can force children to miss school, drop out, work prematurely or experience neglect.

Our Village Savings and Loan Associations complement this work by bringing guardians together in small, trusted community groups where they save regularly, access affordable small loans and invest in income-generating activities. These groups also create a valuable support network, helping families respond to emergencies without immediately falling into deeper financial hardship.

The impact goes beyond money. Caregivers are gaining confidence, financial discipline, practical skills and a stronger sense of responsibility for their families. Children, in turn, are growing in more stable environments where their education, wellbeing and protection can receive greater attention.

F SSIBU Mission Foundation integrates mobile health outreach and child growth monitoring to help vulnerable children under guardian care access essential healthcare and receive early support when health or nutrition concerns are identified.

Through periodic community health outreaches, children receive basic health screenings, deworming, health education, and referrals to local health facilities when further medical attention is needed. By bringing these services closer to rural households, the program helps reduce barriers to healthcare and enables families to respond to health concerns before they become more serious.

Alongside health outreach, our team conducts regular growth and nutrition monitoring for children under guardian care. We track children's growth and identify signs of malnutrition or poor nutritional development, allowing caregivers and program staff to take timely action. Where concerns are identified, families are guided toward appropriate nutrition support, medical services, or referrals.

This integrated approach goes beyond treating illness. It focuses on prevention, early identification, and sustained child wellbeing. For donors, every contribution to this initiative helps us reach children who may otherwise go without basic health checks and gives vulnerable families practical support to protect their children's health and development.
