Dear Donor,
Rescue is the beginning of a child's journey, not the end of it. Many of the children who come to F Ssibu Mission Foundation arrive carrying experiences of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or family breakdown — wounds that are rarely visible on the outside but shape how a child sleeps, learns, trusts adults, and imagines their own future.
That is why community-based counseling sits at the heart of our six-pillar program, alongside curriculum support, peer education, health education, stigma reduction, and life skills training. Through one-on-one sessions, group support circles, and family engagement, our trained counselors help children process trauma at their own pace, in a safe and judgment-free setting. Teachers and peer educators are trained to recognize distress early and refer children back into counseling whenever needed, so support continues long after the initial crisis.
Before counseling, many of the children we serve describe feeling invisible or ashamed, and are at high risk of dropping out of school altogether. With sustained support, we see them re-engage: attending class consistently, rebuilding friendships, and speaking about their futures with hope instead of fear.
Child age 13, is one example. After been rescued from drug addicts and several months of regular counseling, he is now attending school consistently, mentoring younger peers. Stories like this are only possible because of donors like you.
Your support funds the counselors, safe spaces, and follow-up care that keep a child from falling through the cracks after rescue. You are not only helping a child recover from what happened to them — you are helping shape who they become next.
Thank you for standing with these children.
Warm regards,
F Ssibu Mission Foundation
