Nurture 200 dreams, Give a child a chance

Thanks to generous support, our Future Health & Choices program has reached over 1,200 young people this quarter. A recent impact assessment shows that more youth are voluntarily attending sessions on preventing HIV, hepatitis, early marriage, and adolescent pregnancy. Attendance rose by 40% compared to last year, with girls making up nearly 70% of new participants.

Encouragingly, post-session surveys show that 86% of girls can now name three HIV prevention methods, compared to 42% at intake. Over 90% understand the link between early pregnancy and health risks, and 78% report feeling confident to refuse unwanted early marriage proposals.

One 16-year-old participant shared: “I used to think marriage was my only future. Now I know how to protect my health and stay in school.”

We also observed increased peer-to-peer conversations – girls are forming small support groups to share what they learn. This ripple effect multiplies the impact.

Demand now exceeds current capacity. Continued funding would allow expansion into three more districts and training of additional peer educators. These young people are not just preventing disease – they are unlocking futures.
