Rising fuel costs are making it harder to bring children with disabilities to school. Across Pakistan, we support 550 children with education, rehabilitation, transport, uniforms, supplies, & daily lunch. Many travel long distances & would not be able to attend without transport. With the school year starting in July, we urgently need your support to ensure learning, therapy, and nutrition remain uninterrupted across our centers in Karachi, Islamabad, Hyderabad, Sujawal, Ghorabari & Nawabshah.
Children with disabilities in Pakistan face persistent barriers to education, including stigma, lack of infrastructure and resources, making classrooms unwelcoming or entirely inaccessible. In rural and low-income regions, these challenges are amplified, and as a result, countless children are excluded from learning. We provide daily transportation to ensure access, but rising fuel costs have made it increasingly difficult to sustain, putting the education of our students at risk.
Through our Taleem program, NOWPDP operates inclusive and special education schools across Pakistan, providing primary education for children with all disabilities. Each classroom is designed to meet the needs of every learner, offering transportation, rehabilitation, school meals, supplies, and trained educators. By sustaining these essential services despite rising costs, we ensure children with disabilities can return to and remain in school.
This project will ensure children with disabilities stay in school and are not left behind due to rising costs. Continued access to education supports their growth, independence, and future opportunities. Beyond the classroom, our model fosters awareness within communities, helping shift perceptions around disability. In the long run, this will contribute to an inclusive society where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
