Help teachers educate a mindful generation

The NowHere contemplative education initiative continues to grow. Over the past months our focus has shifted from drafting and building toward refining, securing permissions, and reaching the people this program is meant for. All of this has been achieved with the same intention of bringing contemplative practices, relational and nature awareness into educational settings. 

Program development

Following the feedback gathered from collaborators on the first draft for the pilot program manual, we have revised it and improved it. This round of refinement centered on the language provided: simplifying explanations, clarifying instructions, and making the content more accessible to people who may be encountering contemplative practices for the first time. 

We are also glad to announce that Dharma Publishing has granted us approval to include a selection of Kum Nye Yoga exercises in the written manual, as well as the permission to use these practices when the program is implemented. This enriches the experiential dimension of movement practices and grounds the program in a well-established contemplative education. 

Online Presence and Digital Platforms

Our digital home is expanding. We have acquired a new domain for the project, nowherecontemplative.com, and have begun designing a more visual landing page. The new site will remain connected with the work already developed on our Substack platform, so that the two complement rather than replace each other. 

The Substack page itself has also been updated with a clearer message: who the program is for, who is leading it, what participants can expect from the experience, and the fact that the program is completely free.

Community Outreach

During the Bay Area Book Fair (May, 2026), CCI hosted a spot where we had the opportunity to introduce visitors to the project. Many of the people we met joined our newsletter, widening the community that will accompany the program as it unfolds. 

Recruitment for the Pilot Program

We announced that we are ready to invite participants into the first iteration of the NowHere Pilot Program. That invitation is now in full motion: we have started actively promoting the pilot and its dedicated signs-up page through printed materials and our newsletter, and we expect to launch a campaign on both Instagram and Facebook soon.
As we welcome our first cohort, the pilot remains what we envision from the start, both a testing ground and a learning community whose feedback will shape the next phase of development.
