Texas Flooding Update
By Schlene Boundy | President
![]()
Texas continues to recover from the massive floods, fires, and the latest tornados that hit their state within the last year. Some towns like Bastrop are still in need of volunteers to help with rebuilding. Do Your Part would like to thank you for your donations. We have connected with our partners deployed in other areas of Texas and are working together to try and get the building volunteers that are so desperately needed in many of the towns, counties and communities.
We have communicated with Office of Emergency Management staff and volunteers working the many areas of need in this massive state, and have helped to reach out to volunteers for their help. If you ever wish to help at any disaster, please contact us and we either give you a location or set you up with contacts in which you will be able to donate your valuable service.
Thank you again,
Do Your Part

Thank you for your support as Texas continues to need assitance

Thank you all for your support especially during the holiday season as Texas continues to be devastated by more severe weather. Texas is like a country within a country and so much of it has been affected by numerous disasters. This year has been especially hard and looks to continue for not only Texas but most of the country. This time of year is especially hard on the children and they are amazing. One of our youth volunteers, also a yoga intructor and author of a children yoga book, will be making a trip to several cities in Texas to distribute bears to the children and give some therapeutic yoga sessions. Our youth volunteers will be filling backpack to take for those that have lost their backpacks in one or more of the disasters they have suffered. Other partners are on the ground feeding and rebuilding, we a continue to assist in long term recovery with gift cards, clean up and rebuilding assistance.
Please continue your support and pass this information on to others that may not know of the help these people here in our own backyards of the United States, who need assistance from you.
Again all of Do Your Part would like to thank you and Global Giving for all that is done to help the lives and well-being of others.
Happy New Year to All

Survivors struggle as Holiday's Approach
By Schlene Boundy | President

All disasters are emotionally draining, but when the clean up, repairs, and rebuilds overlap into the holiday seasons it causes a deeper depression in the lives of too many survivors. In one particular town, Bastrop, it is deja vu. Many towns are still in need of help, but this one town suffered a loss of 1673 homes in 2011 from one of this countries largest fires. Some of these same homes not to mention the men, women and children's lives that were once again touch by yet another devastating disaster.
We thank all of you who have reached out and gererously given to assist these people, we still need your help to get the word out as we start to prepare for the holidays in these communities that have been affected. Skilled volunteers are still needed in these ares, for a week at a time if anyone is interest or a group would like to help out please email Schlene@doyourpart.org.
Thank you again for your help and a thank you to Global Giving who allow us to come together to make a difference.
