A 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Bitung, North Sulawesi, triggering panic and a tsunami alert in nearby areas. Homes and places of worship have been damaged, and many families are displaced. Through this campaign, Human Initiative delivers urgent aid including food, clean water, medical support, and temporary shelter for affected communities.
Emergency response faces major challenges as aftershocks continue and infrastructure damage limits access to affected areas. Delivering aid is difficult due to disrupted roads and communication. Displaced families lack safe shelter, clean water, and healthcare, while fear of further disasters slows recovery efforts.
This project will deliver immediate emergency relief to earthquake-affected communities in Bitung and surrounding areas. Human Initiative will provide food, clean water, medical aid, temporary shelters, and hygiene kits for displaced families. Mobile teams will ensure aid reaches vulnerable groups, while coordination with local partners enables fast and effective distribution. This response helps stabilize conditions, protect health, and support early recovery.
This project goes beyond emergency relief by supporting long-term recovery and resilience. Human Initiative will help restore livelihoods, improve access to clean water and sanitation, and strengthen community preparedness through training and awareness programs. By working closely with local partners, this effort empowers communities to rebuild safer, reduce future risks, and recover with dignity and sustainability.
