Education and proper nutrition are the factors that most influence the progress of people and societies. For 20 Years our vision has been "to rescue impoverished children and their families living in highest risk areas of Guayaquil, Ecuador, giving them the means to a future with hope and opportunity through education."
93% of the 454 students currently enrolled fall under the lines of poverty and extreme poverty, which enhances their vulnerability. In that environment and without support like ours, with the lack of proper education, nutrition and nurturing they become easy prey to gangs and drug cartels. We graduated our first high school class of 34 students in 2013-2014, all of them are successfully working and/or studying at local universities. Since 1996 we have helped more than 4000 kids.
Your contribution will specifically serve to, grant student scholarships to children from the city of Guayaquil for one year in this first effort with GlobalGiving, or help pay for additional students to receive their meals at school, for many the only nourishment they will receive otherwise.
The delivery of these scholarships and food will help more children to be educated, and improve their living conditions in the future. In the long run, the project is expected to reduce the rates of children who cannot study due to lack of resources or interfamilial and social problems.
