Over the years, we have had the privilege of transforming the lives of many boys who have found refuge in our street shelter. Today, we would like to share with you a deeply moving story from one of these boys, Sandesh. At just 14 years old, Sandesh is incredibly grateful for the new life he’s been given.
“I was alone, my mum died and my dad was always drunk. I joined a street gang to survive. But it was very hard and sometimes older kids and grown-ups would treat me bad. Things got better when I met Sunita from Kidasha. She was kind and made me feel safe. The street centre gives me somewhere to sleep, eat good food and have people look after me. I am learning to cook and care for myself, and now I go to school. I used to think I would die on the streets but now I am hopeful.”
Sadly, there are still many more children out there who need our support but with your continued help, we can reach them.
Many thanks and we are incredibly grateful for your generosity.
